Your 10-Minute Social Media Reset for a New Month

Your 10-Minute Social Media Reset for a New Month

A new month is almost here.

And if your first instinct is:

“Okay, I need a completely new content strategy.”

Or:

“Maybe I should redo my whole Instagram.”

Or, somehow:

“I should probably create 30 posts before tomorrow.”

Please do not give yourself that much homework. 😂

A new month doesn’t automatically mean your business needs a new logo, new feed, new messaging, and a completely different marketing strategy.

Sometimes you just need to stop for a few minutes, look at what you already have, and make a few intentional adjustments.

That’s where a simple monthly social media reset can help.

And this one can take about 10 minutes.

1. Check Your Bio

Start with the first thing someone sees when they visit your profile.

Your bio should answer a few basic questions quickly:

What do you do?

Who do you help?

Where are you located, if location matters?

What should someone do next?

Try looking at your profile as if you’ve never seen your business before.

Would a stranger understand what you offer?

Or would they have to click around, read several posts, conduct a small investigation, and maybe call in a detective? 😂

Clarity matters.

You don’t need to explain your entire business in a few lines.

You just need to give someone enough information to understand where they are and why they might want to stay.

2. Click Your Links

Yes, actually click them.

That link you added months ago and haven’t touched since?

Check it.

Make sure:

  • it still works
  • it goes to the correct page
  • outdated offers have been removed
  • your current priority is easy to find
  • important pages work properly on mobile

A broken link is such a small problem to fix.

But if someone is ready to learn more, book, buy, subscribe, or contact you and the link doesn’t work?

That little problem can become a lost opportunity.

3. Look at Your Recent Content

Now look at your last six posts.

Don’t immediately ask:

“Did these get enough likes?”

Instead ask:

“Do these posts make sense for the business I’m trying to grow?”

Look for some balance.

Your recent content might include:

Education
Teach something useful.

Connection
Give people a reason to interact with or relate to your brand.

Value
Help your audience solve a small problem.

Your offers
Yes, you’re allowed to talk about what you sell.

Brand personality
Let people get a sense of the business behind the posts.

And if every single post is basically:

BUY THIS.

BUY THIS TOO.

HEY, DID YOU BUY THIS YET?

We may need to talk. 😂

Selling isn’t the problem.

Only selling can become the problem.

4. Check Your Business Information

This part isn’t exciting.

It is useful.

Check:

  • business hours
  • contact information
  • services
  • location
  • pricing, if you publicly display it
  • website information
  • booking information

Small inconsistencies can create unnecessary confusion.

If Instagram says one thing and your website says another, your customer shouldn’t have to figure out which one is correct.

The easier you make it for people to understand and contact your business, the better.

5. Pick One Main Goal for the Month

This is where people sometimes make marketing way more complicated than it needs to be.

You do not need seventeen marketing goals for September.

Pick one primary focus.

Maybe you want:

More awareness

You need more people discovering the business.

More engagement

You want the audience you already have to interact more.

More website traffic

You need content that gives people a reason to leave the social platform and visit your site.

More inquiries

You want more potential customers starting conversations.

Once you know what you want more of, your content decisions become easier.

Instead of asking:

“What should I post today?”

you can ask:

“What could I post today that supports the goal I chose?”

That’s a much more useful question.

You Don’t Need to Reinvent Everything

Sometimes business owners assume that progress requires a dramatic change.

New branding.

New strategy.

New platform.

New everything.

But often the better move is much simpler:

Review.

Look at what you already have.

Adjust.

Fix what isn’t working.

Keep going.

Build on what does work.

That may not sound as exciting as completely reinventing your Instagram every 30 days.

But it’s a whole lot more sustainable.

Your 10-Minute Reset Checklist

Before the new month begins, check:

☐ Bio
☐ Links
☐ Recent content
☐ Business information
☐ One clear marketing goal

That’s it.

You don’t need to rebuild your business because the calendar changed.

Sometimes a few small changes are exactly what you need to move forward with more clarity.

Save this checklist and come back to it at the beginning of every month.

And if you’re working on your September marketing plan, ask yourself one question:

What is the ONE thing I want my social media to help my business accomplish this month?

That answer is a pretty good place to start.
